The SEMICOA Story
Since 1968 SEMICOA has specialized in the manufacturing of discrete silicon semiconductors focusing on small signal transistors for high reliability space, military and commercial markets. SEMICOA, headquartered in Costa Mesa, CA, has design, development, fabrication, assembly, and testing fa-cilities all on premises. SEMICOA has assembled the most talented designers, engineers, packaging, quality control, production and sales people in the business.
The firm has provided hi-reliability, JANS products have supported such programs as GPS III Trident, Hell Fire and the Patriot Missile.
The facility has achieved the highest U.S. Government quali-fications of JANS and MIL-PRF-19500 for production of elec-tronic components. And also received ISO 9001:2000 with AS9100:2004 Rev B certification.
The manufacturing facility performs discrete and hybrid as-sembly utilizing innovative techniques and processes. High volume production is performed on dedicated assembly lines to reduce cost and increase throughput at the highest quality levels.
SEMICOA Burn-In Facility
Throughout the 70's, 80's and 90's SEMICOA gained a reputation for providing high reliable bipolar transistor prod-ucts and while increasing capacity and manufacturing effi-ciencies to meet its customers demanding delivery sched-ules.
In 2007, SEMICOA focused on the research and develop-ment of bipolar diodes and additional bipolar transistor prod-ucts. By early 2008, SEMICOA was manufacturing and quali-fying JANS diode products.
The company was sold in July of 2008 but by August of 2009 the purchaser divested the SEMICOA assets and SEMICOA was reorganized with the support of private equity firm Vance Street Capital allowing SEMICOA CORPORATION the sig-nificant financial backing to execute its business objectives for long term growth. Vance Street Capital manages more than $300 million in assets for future investment.

Vance Street Capital, with Tom Epley as Chairman of the board brought back the top management team, previously run-ning the company, to continue their original vision of growth and new product development. SEMICOA'S management is headed up Perry Denning, President and COO; Bill Caparelli, Executive VP of Sales & Marketing; John Park, VP of Strategic Market-ing; Kathleen Whitcher, VP of World Wide Sales; Tom Magee, CFO and Iftikhar Ahmed, CTO.
The firm has hired the most experienced designers and engineers in the field of power semiconductors aimed at broadening existing and new product offering in the discrete semiconductor market-place such as Bipolar Transistors, Bipolar Diodes, MOSFETs, IGBTs and other power related packaged products in die and packaged form.
SEMICOA in 2009 augmented its Radiation Engineering Section by enhancing its department solely dedicated to supporting cus-tomer needs for radiation hardened devices aimed at space appli-cations and the expansion of its product line to include DSCC cer-tified MOSFETs, FREDs and IGBT and other power related prod-ucts in packaged form.
In 2010, SEMICOA will expand into new technologies for the auto-motive, medical telecommunications and security industries while maintaining the excellent reputation it has earned over the past 40 years of expertise, quality assurance, long term support, hi-rel product, and provide customers with more options than ever to satisfy their production needs.
